What is the ZEN file format?
A file with the .ZEN extension is a file known as ZEMAX Face Number. It belongs to the Misc Files category. This format is associated with ZEMAX Development Corporation.
The reliable way to open a .ZEN file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .ZEN files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
