What is the TAM file format?
A file with the .TAM extension is a file known as Tame Program Settings. It belongs to the Settings Files category. This format is associated with TameDOS.
The reliable way to open a .TAM file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .TAM files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
