How to open file with EWD extension?

Problems with accessing EWD may be due to various reasons. Fortunately, most common problems with EWD files can be solved without in-depth IT knowledge, and most importantly, in a matter of minutes. The list below will guide you through the process of addressing the encountered problem.

Step 1. Download and install EasyWOOD

The most common reason for such problems is the lack of proper applications that supports EWD files installed on the system. The solution to this problem is very simple. Download EasyWOOD and install it on your device. On the top of the page a list that contains all programs grouped based on operating systems supported can be found. The safest method of downloading EasyWOOD installed is by going to developer’s website (DDX S.r.l.) and downloading the software using provided links.

Step 2. Verify the you have the latest version of EasyWOOD

You still cannot access EWD files although EasyWOOD is installed on your system? Make sure that the software is up to date. It may also happen that software creators by updating their applications add compatibility with other, newer file formats. The reason that EasyWOOD cannot handle files with EWD may be that the software is outdated. The latest version of EasyWOOD should support all file formats that where compatible with older versions of the software.

Step 3. Assign EasyWOOD to EWD files

If you have the latest version of EasyWOOD installed and the problem persists, select it as the default program to be used to manage EWD on your device. The method is quite simple and varies little across operating systems.

The procedure to change the default program in Windows

  • Right-click the EWD file and choose Open with option
  • Click Choose another app and then select More apps option
  • To finalize the process, select Look for another app on this PC entry and using the file explorer select the EasyWOOD installation folder. Confirm by checking Always use this app to open EWD files box and clicking OK button.

The procedure to change the default program in Mac OS

Step 4. Verify that the EWD is not faulty

Should the problem still occur after following steps 1-3, check if the EWD file is valid. Problems with opening the file may arise due to various reasons.

1. The EWD may be infected with malware – make sure to scan it with an antivirus tool.

If the file is infected, the malware that resides in the EWD file hinders attempts to open it. Immediately scan the file using an antivirus tool or scan the whole system to ensure the whole system is safe. If the EWD file is indeed infected follow the instructions below.

2. Verify that the EWD file’s structure is intact

If the EWD file was sent to you by someone else, ask this person to resend the file to you. The file might have been copied erroneously and the data lost integrity, which precludes from accessing the file. If the EWD file has been downloaded from the internet only partially, try to redownload it.

3. Ensure that you have appropriate access rights

Some files require elevated access rights to open them. Log out of your current account and log in to an account with sufficient access privileges. Then open the EasyWOOD Design Format file.

4. Make sure that the system has sufficient resources to run EasyWOOD
