3D2 is a 3D image file format used by Atari Stereo CAD-3D, a software tool for Atari ST. The files can contain up to 40 3D objects. Besides actual object data, the file stores also additionl information about them, such as colors and lighting settings.
3D2 format is similar to the older version; however, it is not based on Motorola Fast Floating Point library (LIBF) used for storing object’s vertex coordinate data. Each coordinate is stored as 2-byte word, not as a 4-byte floating point format, therefore keeping the file size small.
3D2 file is divided into two separate parts. First part stores 256-byte header that holds information about lightinig settings, color palette, and the number of object in the file. Second part stores data structure that defines the 3D object stored in the file.
We hope we helped you solve the problem with the 3D2 file. If you do not know where you can download the application from our list, click on the link (which is the name of the program) - you will find more information there on the location where to download the secure setup version of the required application.
There can be more reasons which determine that you are not able to open the 3D2 file (apart from the lack of the proper application installed).
First - the 3D2 file may be incorrectly associated with the application installed to support it. In this case, you need to change this association by yourself. To do this, right-click on the 3D2 file that you want to edit, click "Open with" and then select the program from the list that you have installed. After this operation, the problems with opening the 3D2 file should be solved.
Second - the file you want to open can simply be damaged. Then, the best solution is to find a new version of given file, or download it again from the same source as before (maybe for some reason in the previous session the download of the 3D2 file has not been completed and it cannot be opened properly).
If you have additional information about the 3D2 file, we will be grateful if you share it with our users. To do this, use the form here and send us your information on 3D2 file.
