What is the BCF file format?
Files with the .bcf extension contain business card designs. They are used by Business Card Designer Pro, a Windows application developed by Belltech Systems, LLC. .bcf files can contain all the elements of a modern business card, including:
- first and last name, company name,
- telephone numbers, email addresses, and websites,
- logo,
- barcodes and QR codes,
- graphics and photos,
- bitmap and vector images.
Thanks to .bcf files, attractive business cards can be quickly and conveniently created, intended for business or private use.
The format is proprietary and tightly coupled to Business Card Designer Pro - no other application is known to open .bcf files. Version 5.4, released in August 2016, is the last known release; the software remains downloadable but has received no active development since. The application runs on Windows only. To share designs outside the application, exporting to PDF, JPEG, or PNG is the standard approach.
Note: the .bcf extension is also used by the BIM Collaboration Format (buildingSMART International), an entirely different open standard used in building information modeling and construction workflows.
