What is the PRO6X file format?
A .pro6x file is a bundle exported from ProPresenter 6, the worship and event presentation software from Renewed Vision. ProPresenter is used to run slides for church services, concerts, conferences and sporting events.
A standard ProPresenter document, the .pro6 file, holds slide text, layout and timing but points to its images, video and audio by file path. That works on the machine where the presentation was built, but the media goes missing if you copy the document elsewhere. A .pro6x bundle fixes this by packing one or more documents together with copies of every media file into a single ZIP-compressed container. The result is portable, which is why the format is used for archiving finished presentations and moving playlists between computers.
Inside, the container is an ordinary .zip archive that starts with the PK signature. The .pro6 documents it holds are UTF-8 XML with base64-encoded data and RTF-formatted slide text.
Security & safety
RISK: LOWA .pro6x is a ZIP archive holding presentation XML and media, with no executable code, so it carries little inherent risk. As with any archive, only extract bundles from sources you trust, since a container can hold arbitrary files. Media inside is standard image, audio and video.
