VMD File

Files with the VMD extension belong to the category of audio files.

What do VMD files contain?

The contents of files with the VMD extension are 8-bit sound samples. This format was very popular at the turn of the 80s and 90s of the last century. The contents of files with the VMD extension are so-called samples, i.e., individual sounds digitally generated. Files with the VMD extension resemble other resources of this type (VMF). Both standards were used to play sound by devices from Covox in the times when sound cards for computers were not yet widely available. Nowadays, devices for handling files with the VMD extension (constructed with just a few resistors and an LPT port plug) are not used and represent an interesting relic from the era of the first personal computers.
