Step 1. Install ACID Pro software

Step 2. Update ACID Pro to the latest version

You still cannot access ACD files although ACID Pro is installed on your system? Make sure that the software is up to date. It may also happen that software creators by updating their applications add compatibility with other, newer file formats. This can be one of the causes why ACD files are not compatible with ACID Pro. All of the file formats that were handled just fine by the previous versions of given program should be also possible to open using ACID Pro.

Step 3. Set the default application to open ACD files to ACID Pro

Change the default application in Mac OS

• By clicking right mouse button on the selected ACD file open the file menu and choose Information
• Open the Open with section by clicking its name
• Select ACID Pro and click Change for all...
• If you followed the previous steps a message should appear: This change will be applied to all files with ACD extension. Next, click the Continue button to finalize the process.

Step 4. Ensure that the ACD file is complete and free of errors

If you followed the instructions form the previous steps yet the issue is still not solved, you should verify the ACD file in question. Being unable to access the file can be related to various issues.

1. The ACD may be infected with malware – make sure to scan it with an antivirus tool.

Should it happed that the ACD is infected with a virus, this may be that cause that prevents you from accessing it.
