What is the PTF file format?
A file with the .PTF extension is a file known as Pro Tools 7.0 and later session. It belongs to the Audio Files category. This format is associated with Avid Technology.
The reliable way to open a .PTF file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
This page lists 2 programs that open .PTF files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
