Hva er FAP-filformatet?
En .fap-fil er en Flipper Application Package, en applikasjon bygget for multiverktøyet Flipper Zero laget av Flipper Devices. Under panseret er det en .elf-objektfil kompilert for STM32WB55 sin ARM Cortex-M4-kjerne, med Flipper-spesifikke metadata, et ikon og ressurser pakket inn i ekstra seksjoner.
Fordi Flippers mikrokontroller ikke kan kjøre kode direkte fra SD-kortet, kopierer fastvarens App Loader en .fap til RAM, sjekker at API-versjonen er kompatibel, utfører relokeringer og løser opp fastvarefunksjonene den kaller før den kjøres. Hver pakke registrerer fastvare-API-versjonen den ble bygget mot, slik at en app fortsetter å fungere på tvers av fastvareversjoner så lenge hovedversjonen samsvarer. RISIKO: MEDIUMA .fap is native ARM code that runs on the Flipper Zero, so a malicious or buggy app could misbehave on the device, though it runs in the Flipper's constrained environment and cannot infect a desktop PC by sitting on it. The main caution is that FAPs can drive the Flipper's radios and GPIO in ways that may be illegal or harmful if misused. Install FAPs from the official catalog or trusted repositories, and be aware community apps are not reviewed as strictly as official ones.

A FAP begins with the standard ELF magic (0x7F 'E' 'L' 'F') because it is an ELF object file. It has no unique .fap signature; the Flipper-specific metadata (fap_version, api version, icon, name) is embedded in ELF sections, so the file is identified by its .fap extension and ELF contents rather than a distinct header.
