Che cos'è il formato di file FAP?
Un file .fap è un Flipper Application Package, un'applicazione creata per il multi-tool Flipper Zero prodotto da Flipper Devices. Sotto il cofano è un file oggetto .elf compilato per il core ARM Cortex-M4 dell'STM32WB55, con metadati specifici per Flipper, un'icona e risorse raggruppate in sezioni extra.
Poiché il microcontrollore del Flipper non può eseguire codice direttamente dalla scheda SD, l'App Loader del firmware copia un .fap nella RAM, verifica che la sua versione API sia compatibile, applica le rilocazioni e risolve le funzioni del firmware che richiama prima di eseguirlo. Ogni pacchetto registra la versione dell'API del firmware con cui è stato creato, in modo che un'app continui a funzionare tra le varie build del firmware finché la versione principale (major) corrisponde. Gli sviluppatori creano i FAP con il Flipper Build Tool (FBT o il più leggero ufbt), guidato da un manifesto application.fam che contrassegna l'app come esterna.

RISCHIO: MEDIUMA .fap is native ARM code that runs on the Flipper Zero, so a malicious or buggy app could misbehave on the device, though it runs in the Flipper's constrained environment and cannot infect a desktop PC by sitting on it. The main caution is that FAPs can drive the Flipper's radios and GPIO in ways that may be illegal or harmful if misused. Install FAPs from the official catalog or trusted repositories, and be aware community apps are not reviewed as strictly as official ones.

A FAP begins with the standard ELF magic (0x7F 'E' 'L' 'F') because it is an ELF object file. It has no unique .fap signature; the Flipper-specific metadata (fap_version, api version, icon, name) is embedded in ELF sections, so the file is identified by its .fap extension and ELF contents rather than a distinct header.
