Vad är filformatet FAP?
En .fap-fil är ett Flipper Application Package, en applikation byggd för multiverktyget Flipper Zero skapat av Flipper Devices. Under huven är det en .elf-objektfil kompilerad för STM32WB55:s ARM Cortex-M4-kärna, med Flipper-specifika metadata, en ikon och resurser buntade i extra sektioner.
Eftersom Flipperns mikrokontroller inte kan köra kod direkt från SD-kortet, kopierar firmwarens App Loader en .fap till RAM, kontrollerar att dess API-version är kompatibel, tillämpar relokeringar och löser de firmware-funktioner den anropar innan den körs. Varje paket registrerar den firmware-API-version det byggdes mot, så en app fortsätter att fungera över olika firmware-versioner så länge huvudversionen matchar. Utvecklare skapar FAPs med Flipper Build Tool (FBT eller den lättare ufbt), som styrs av ett application.fam-manifest som markerar appen som extern.

RISK: MEDIUMA .fap is native ARM code that runs on the Flipper Zero, so a malicious or buggy app could misbehave on the device, though it runs in the Flipper's constrained environment and cannot infect a desktop PC by sitting on it. The main caution is that FAPs can drive the Flipper's radios and GPIO in ways that may be illegal or harmful if misused. Install FAPs from the official catalog or trusted repositories, and be aware community apps are not reviewed as strictly as official ones.

A FAP begins with the standard ELF magic (0x7F 'E' 'L' 'F') because it is an ELF object file. It has no unique .fap signature; the Flipper-specific metadata (fap_version, api version, icon, name) is embedded in ELF sections, so the file is identified by its .fap extension and ELF contents rather than a distinct header.
