¿Qué es el formato de archivo FAP?
Un archivo .fap es un Flipper Application Package, una aplicación creada para la multiherramienta Flipper Zero fabricada por Flipper Devices. Internamente es un archivo de objeto .elf compilado para el núcleo ARM Cortex-M4 del STM32WB55, con metadatos específicos de Flipper, un icono y recursos agrupados en secciones adicionales.
Debido a que el microcontrolador del Flipper no puede ejecutar código directamente desde la tarjeta SD, el App Loader del firmware copia el .fap a la RAM, verifica que su versión de API sea compatible, aplica relocalizaciones y resuelve las funciones del firmware que invoca antes de ejecutarlo. Cada paquete registra la versión de la API del firmware con la que fue compilado, por lo que una aplicación sigue funcionando a través de distintas versiones del firmware siempre que la versión principal coincida. Los desarrolladores crean archivos FAP con la Flipper Build Tool (FBT o la versión ligera ufbt), gestionada por un manifiesto application.fam que marca la aplicación como externa.
Seguridad y protección
RIESGO: MEDIUMA .fap is native ARM code that runs on the Flipper Zero, so a malicious or buggy app could misbehave on the device, though it runs in the Flipper's constrained environment and cannot infect a desktop PC by sitting on it. The main caution is that FAPs can drive the Flipper's radios and GPIO in ways that may be illegal or harmful if misused. Install FAPs from the official catalog or trusted repositories, and be aware community apps are not reviewed as strictly as official ones.
