LinuxWat is het ZHELP-bestandsformaat?
Een .zhelp-bestand is een Ziphelp-pakket, een open help-documentatieformaat van EC Software GmbH, het bedrijf achter de Help+Manual-auteurstool. Het is een standaard .zip-archief dat de extensie .zhelp heeft gekregen. Binnenin bevindt zich een sitemap.xml-bestand plus de .html-onderwerpen, afbeeldingen en stylesheets die het helpsysteem van een softwareapplicatie vormen.
De sitemap.xml is waar Ziphelp het echte werk doet. Het breidt het gewone sitemap-protocol uit met help-contextnummers, help-trefwoorden en associatieve trefwoorden, zodat een viewer direct naar het juiste onderwerp kan springen wanneer een gebruiker op F1 drukt in een applicatie. Omdat het formaat uitsluitend rust op HTML, .xml en ZIP, heeft EC Software het ontworpen om te werken op desktop-, mobiele en webplatforms in plaats van gebonden te zijn aan Windows. Het verscheen in Help+Manual 9.3 in 2023 als een open alternatief voor het oudere .chm-formaat.

RISICO: LOWA .zhelp file is a ZIP archive of HTML and XML documents, so the container itself is not executable. As with any archive from an untrusted source, extract before trusting embedded links or scripts, and scan large downloads. There is no macro or code-execution mechanism defined by the Ziphelp format.
