Un file .zhelp è un pacchetto Ziphelp, un formato di documentazione di aiuto aperto di EC Software GmbH, l'azienda produttrice dello strumento di authoring Help+Manual. È un archivio .zip standard a cui è stata assegnata l'estensione .zhelp. All'interno si trova un file sitemap.xml insieme agli argomenti .html, alle immagini e ai fogli di stile che compongono il sistema di aiuto di un'applicazione software.
Il file sitemap.xml è il luogo in cui Ziphelp svolge il suo vero lavoro. Estende il protocollo sitemap ordinario con numeri di contesto di aiuto, parole chiave di aiuto e parole chiave associative, in modo che un visualizzatore possa saltare direttamente all'argomento corretto quando un utente preme F1 all'interno di un'applicazione. Poiché il formato si basa esclusivamente su HTML, .xml e ZIP, EC Software lo ha progettato per funzionare su piattaforme desktop, mobile e web piuttosto che essere legato a Windows. RISCHIO: LOWA .zhelp file is a ZIP archive of HTML and XML documents, so the container itself is not executable. As with any archive from an untrusted source, extract before trusting embedded links or scripts, and scan large downloads. There is no macro or code-execution mechanism defined by the Ziphelp format.
