En .zhelp-fil er en Ziphelp-pakke, et åbent hjælpedokumentationsformat fra EC Software GmbH, firmaet bag Help+Manual-forfatterværktøjet. Det er et standard .zip-arkiv, som er blevet tildelt filtypen .zhelp. Indeni ligger en sitemap.xml-fil plus de .html-emner, billeder og stylesheets, der udgør et softwareprograms hjælpesystem.
sitemap.xml er der, hvor Ziphelp udfører sit egentlige arbejde. Den udvider den almindelige sitemap-protokol med hjælpekontekstnumre, hjælpenøgleord og associative nøgleord, så en fremviser kan hoppe direkte til det rigtige emne, når en bruger trykker på F1 inde i et program. Da formatet udelukkende hviler på HTML, .xml og ZIP, har EC Software designet det til at køre på desktop-, mobil- og webplatforme i stedet for at være bundet til Windows. Det ankom i Help+Manual 9.3 i 2023 som et åbent alternativ til det ældre .chm-format.
Sikkerhed og tryghed
RISIKO: LOWA .zhelp file is a ZIP archive of HTML and XML documents, so the container itself is not executable. As with any archive from an untrusted source, extract before trusting embedded links or scripts, and scan large downloads. There is no macro or code-execution mechanism defined by the Ziphelp format.
