En .zhelp-fil är ett Ziphelp-paket, ett öppet format för hjälpdokumentation från EC Software GmbH, företaget bakom författarverktyget Help+Manual. Det är ett standard .zip-arkiv som har getts filändelsen .zhelp. Inuti finns en sitemap.xml-fil plus de .html-ämnen, bilder och stilmallar som utgör ett programvarusystems hjälpsystem.
Det är i sitemap.xml som Ziphelp gör sitt verkliga arbete. Den utökar det vanliga sitemap-protokollet med hjälpkontextnummer, hjälpnyckelord och associativa nyckelord, så att en visare kan hoppa direkt till rätt ämne när en användare trycker på F1 inuti ett program. Eftersom formatet enbart vilar på HTML, .xml och ZIP, designade EC Software det för att köras på stationära datorer, mobila enheter och webbplattformar snarare än att vara bundet till Windows. Det lanserades i Help+Manual 9.3 under 2023 som ett öppet alternativ till det äldre .chm-formatet.

RISK: LOWA .zhelp file is a ZIP archive of HTML and XML documents, so the container itself is not executable. As with any archive from an untrusted source, extract before trusting embedded links or scripts, and scan large downloads. There is no macro or code-execution mechanism defined by the Ziphelp format.
