What is the PKR file format?
A file with the .PKR extension is a file known as Pretty Good Privacy Public Keyring. It belongs to the Encoded Files category. This format is associated with PGP Corporation.
The reliable way to open a .PKR file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .PKR files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
