What is CTG file?

CTG file contains user-defined events catalog used by PATROL tool developed by BMC. CTG is a text file with strictly defined structure. CTG files are saved in /lib/knowledge subfolder. The file stores event information in the form of a catalog. Event class stores complete information about an event, including:

  • A message window should appear informing that This change will be applied to all files with CTG extension. By clicking Continue you confirm your selection.

Step 4. Verify that the CTG is not faulty

Should the problem still occur after following steps 1-3, check if the CTG file is valid. It is probable that the file is corrupted and thus cannot be accessed.

1. Check the CTG file for viruses or malware
