ADOC File

Files with .ADOC extension can be encoded Word documents in DOC format created with Authentica Secure Office tool. TADOC is also referred to as Encoded Word Document and is a binary file with access protection. Accessing such files is only possible using dedicated software tools. ADOC format was popular at he beginning of 21st century, but was soon replaced by more modern solutions.

Use cases for ADOC files

ADOC files were fully compatible with Microsoft Office. Authentica company was bought in 2006 by EMC Corporation and some of the Secure Tool features were incorporated in Documentum IRM Client for Microsoft Office. User with sufficient privileges could:

• track changed made to the document,
• edit the document,
• change user access settings to the file,
• add watermarks.

Authentica Secure Office has been discontinued. ADOC Authentica Secure Office Encoded Word Document is considered a legacy format and is no longer supported in modern software solutions.
