What is XMMS?
XMMS (X Multimedia System) is an open-source audio player for Unix-like operating systems modeled on the Winamp interface. It plays audio files including MP3, WAV, OGG, and MOD formats through a plugin-based architecture and was widely used on Linux desktops before being succeeded by projects such as Audacious.
