What is the VPJ file format?
.vpj is a file format native to Pixbend Studio, a digital audio and video encoder by Nexilogic that uses the Pixbend technology, developed for encoding high-quality multimedia content with minimum resources. A .vpj file contains a project created with Pixbend Studio, referencing media encoded in Nexilogic's proprietary .npv format. Pixbend Studio is no longer updated or supported. The .vpj extension is also used by unrelated software: SlickEdit for code-editor projects and NCH VideoPad for video editing.
Security & safety
RISK: MEDIUMThe Pixbend .vpj format itself is just project data, but the practical risk is software supply: Pixbend Studio is abandoned and its vendor site may be dead or hijacked, so any 'Pixbend Studio' or 'vpj converter' download from search results should be treated as untrusted (high risk of bundled adware/malware around obscure dead-format tools). There is no legitimate modern player, so be skeptical of any site claiming to open or convert .vpj. If the file is actually a SlickEdit or VideoPad project, use those official, maintained applications instead.
Format details
in a nutshell- SlickEdit project file (.vpj) - A project definition for the SlickEdit cross-platform code editor - an XML-like text file listing source files and build settings; open it in SlickEdit.
- VideoPad project file (.vpj) - A video-editing project saved by NCH VideoPad, referencing clips on disk; open it in VideoPad to continue editing.
