What is the TMD file format?
A .tmd file holds a document created with TextMaker, a word processor that is part of the SoftMaker Office suite developed by SoftMaker Software GmbH. .tmd files can contain all the elements of a text document - text formatting, images, drawings, and page settings.
.tmd is a proprietary format with a history going back to TextMaker in the 1990s. Older files use a legacy binary layout; documents created with newer SoftMaker Office versions are ZIP-packaged and may begin with the PK magic bytes. The .tmdx format is the successor to .tmd and the current native format for TextMaker. .tmd files can be exported to more widely supported formats such as DOCX or ODT.
