What is the IOR file format?
A file with the .IOR extension is a file known as Maxwell Render Index Of Refraction. It belongs to the Misc Files category. This format is associated with Next Limit Technologies.
The reliable way to open a .IOR file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .IOR files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
