What is the EC4 file format?
The .ec4 file format is native to EPSON Print CD software, a graphical tool for designing and printing labels for CD or DVD discs on an Epson printer. An .ec4 file stores a complete Print CD label-design document, including layout, graphics, text, and print settings.
It is a proprietary binary format by Seiko Epson Corporation - the fourth generation in the Print CD project file series, following .ec1, .ec2, and .ec3. The .ec4 extension is considered outdated and is now replaced by the newer .printcd2 format.
.ec4 files carry no published magic-byte signature and are identified by application file association rather than a fixed header. EPSON Print CD was available for both Windows and macOS.
