Che cos'è il formato di file KWZ?
Un file .kwz contiene un flipnote, l'animazione in stile flipbook che si crea in Flipnote Studio 3D. Nintendo ha rilasciato l'app per Nintendo 3DS in Giappone il 24 luglio 2013, e successivamente in Nord America ed Europa. Ogni file memorizza una sequenza di fotogrammi disegnati a mano e ogni fotogramma ha tre livelli di disegno tratti da una piccola tavolozza fissa di colori. Poiché lo schermo del 3DS è stereoscopico, ogni livello trasporta anche un valore di profondità, in modo che un flipnote possa essere riprodotto in 3D. Il suono è incluso sotto forma di un massimo di quattro tracce di un codec audio ADPCM personalizzato.
All'interno, un .kwz è una serie di sezioni etichettate: un'intestazione, una miniatura 80x64, le immagini dei fotogrammi compressi, una tabella di metadati per fotogramma e l'audio. Sicurezza e incolumità
RISCHIO: LOWA .kwz is a passive animation data file with no scripting or executable code, so opening one cannot run a program. Every genuine flipnote is RSA-signed, and an unmodified 3DS rejects files that fail the signature check. The main caveat is that files from unofficial sources may not validate on real hardware, but they pose no security risk to a computer.

There is no single fixed whole-file signature. A KWZ is a run of 8-byte-headed sections whose 4-character tags start with a capital K (KFH file header, KTN thumbnail, KMC frame data, KMI frame metadata, KSN sound). A normal flipnote opens with the KFH section, so the first three bytes are usually 'KFH', but folder-icon and comment variants of the format start with other sections.
