Qu'est-ce que le format de fichier KWZ ?
Un fichier .kwz contient une flipnote, l'animation de style folioscope que vous créez dans Flipnote Studio 3D. Nintendo a lancé l'application pour la Nintendo 3DS au Japon le 24 juillet 2013, puis plus tard en Amérique du Nord et en Europe. Chaque fichier stocke une série d'images dessinées à la main, et chaque image possède trois calques de dessin choisis parmi une petite palette fixe de couleurs. L'écran de la 3DS étant stéréoscopique, chaque calque porte également une valeur de profondeur, permettant à une flipnote d'être lue en 3D. Le son est intégré sous la forme de jusqu'à quatre pistes utilisant un codec audio ADPCM personnalisé.
À l'intérieur, un .kwz est une série de sections balisées : un en-tête, une vignette de 80x64, les images compressées, une table de métadonnées par image et l'audio. Les 256 derniers octets constituent une signature RSA-2048 sur l'ensemble du fichier, que la console vérifie avant de charger une flipnote. Le nom vient de *kawazu*, un vieux mot japonais signifiant grenouille. Le format est le successeur du format flipnote .ppm de l'ère DSi.
Sécurité et sûreté
RISQUE : LOWA .kwz is a passive animation data file with no scripting or executable code, so opening one cannot run a program. Every genuine flipnote is RSA-signed, and an unmodified 3DS rejects files that fail the signature check. The main caveat is that files from unofficial sources may not validate on real hardware, but they pose no security risk to a computer.

There is no single fixed whole-file signature. A KWZ is a run of 8-byte-headed sections whose 4-character tags start with a capital K (KFH file header, KTN thumbnail, KMC frame data, KMI frame metadata, KSN sound). A normal flipnote opens with the KFH section, so the first three bytes are usually 'KFH', but folder-icon and comment variants of the format start with other sections.

Chaque flipnote est signée avec une signature RSA-2048 sur l'ensemble du fichier. Si un fichier a été modifié ou créé en dehors de l'application, la signature ne correspond plus et une 3DS non modifiée refusera de le charger.
Quelle est la différence entre KWZ et PPM ?
PPM est l'ancien format flipnote de Flipnote Studio sur la DSi. KWZ est son successeur sur 3DS, ajoutant un troisième calque de dessin, la profondeur 3D stéréoscopique et un audio de meilleure qualité. Les outils qui lisent l'un lisent généralement l'autre.
Un fichier KWZ est-il sûr à ouvrir ?
Oui. Il s'agit de simples données d'animation sans code exécutable, il ne peut donc rien lancer sur votre appareil. L'ouvrir dans un lecteur ne fait que décoder les images et l'audio.
