What is the OLY file format?
A file with the .OLY extension is a file known as AFP Advanced Function Presentation Overlay Resource. It belongs to the Misc Files category. This format is associated with IBM.
The reliable way to open a .OLY file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .OLY files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
