What is the CAOS file format?
A file with the .CAOS extension is a file known as CanOpener Preference. It belongs to the Settings Files category. This format is associated with Abbot Systems.
The reliable way to open a .CAOS file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .CAOS files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
