What is the C09 file format?
A file with the .C09 extension is a file known as Split Multi-volume ACE Compressed File Archive. This format is associated with e-merge GmbH.
The reliable way to open a .C09 file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .C09 files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
