What is ArcGIS Desktop?
ArcGIS Desktop is a suite of programs that can be utilised to facilitate operating on maps and GIS data. Suite enables to create new maps, process maps already in existence and to analyse spatial data contained within them. ArcGIS Desktop also enables to manage and to visualise data contained within geodatabases. Suite comprises of the following components: ArcMap, ArcScene, ArcCatalog, ArcGlobe and ArcToolbox. Suite can be adjusted to personal needs with the available plugins.
