Why convert RW2 to RAW?
RW2 (Panasonic Lumix RAW Image version 2) is a TIFF/EP-based proprietary raw format storing unprocessed sensor data - it is already a raw image by definition. The .raw extension is not a single standard: it has been used by several camera and scanner makers for mutually incompatible proprietary formats, including early Panasonic Lumix bodies before they switched to .rw2 around 2008. Any tool advertising RW2-to-RAW conversion has no valid target format to produce. Convert to .dng for a documented open raw alternative.

- Keep the original
.rw2as your digital negative; it cannot be regenerated once deleted.
