Why convert RW2 to RWL?
RW2 comes from Panasonic Lumix cameras; RWL is produced by Leica bodies that use Panasonic sensor hardware. Both formats use the same TIFF/EP structure, the same Panasonic-specific file header, and the same raw sensor data encoding. The extension reflects only the camera brand, not a distinct format. Because the two are structurally identical, no converter exists, and renaming an RW2 to .rwl would only mislead software into thinking the file came from a Leica.
How to convert RW2 to RWL
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom APP
Open .rw2 files directly in Lightroom for editing; use Copy as DNG on import to archive in an open format, or export as JPEG for sharing.
Zoner Photo Studio APP
Open .rw2 files directly in Zoner Photo Studio and export to JPEG, TIFF, or another format - no conversion to .rwl is needed.
