Why convert MBOX to OLM?
OLM is the archive format Microsoft Outlook for Mac produces when you use File > Export. If you received a Gmail Google Takeout export or a Thunderbird backup as an .mbox file and want to bring that mail into Outlook for Mac, converting to .olm lets you import the archive directly without an Exchange or IMAP server.
How to convert MBOX to OLM
Apple Mail + Microsoft Outlook for Mac FREE
Import the .mbox into Apple Mail (Mailbox > Import Mailboxes > Files in mbox format), then in Outlook for Mac choose File > Export to produce the .olm archive.
