Why convert EASM to PDF?
PDF is universally readable without any CAD viewer, plugin, or account. An EASM file requires eDrawings Viewer to open, while a .pdf works on any device. This makes PDF the practical choice for approval workflows, purchase orders, and client presentations where the recipient only needs to see the assembly layout.
How to convert EASM to PDF
eDrawings Viewer FREE
Open the .easm file, set the camera angle, then go to File > Save As > PDF, or use File > Print with any PDF printer to export the current view.
SolidWorks APP
Open the .easm in SolidWorks and use File > Save As > PDF; some versions also offer a 3D PDF option that embeds a rotatable model, depending on whether geometry export was enabled when the EASM was published.

About these formats
An EASM file is an eDrawings Assembly - a lightweight, shareable snapshot of a multi-part 3D CAD assembly published from SolidWorks (Dassault Systemes). It is a viewing and review format,…

- A standard PDF export from eDrawings Viewer is a flat image of the current screen view - geometry, measurements, and the ability to rotate the model are not transferred.
- 3D PDF output (embeds an interactive model viewable in Adobe Acrobat Reader) is available in some eDrawings and SolidWorks versions but depends on the publisher enabling geometry export when creating the EASM.
- For multiple views, export each orientation separately and combine the pages in a PDF editor.
