Why convert CDR to PDF?
PDF is the universal delivery format for print-ready artwork: recipients do not need CorelDRAW to view, print, or forward the file. Unlike rasterizing to JPG, a PDF from a vector CDR keeps lines, text, and curves as scalable vectors, so the .pdf stays sharp at any resolution and fonts and colours are embedded.

- Complex CorelDRAW effects such as mesh fills and lens effects may not import correctly in Inkscape or other third-party tools via the libcdr library; CorelDRAW itself gives the most faithful PDF output.
- For professional print, confirm with your print shop whether they need PDF/X-1a (CMYK, no transparency) or PDF/X-4 (supports transparency); only CorelDRAW offers these presets directly.
- The CDR format is proprietary; correct reading by third-party tools is partial, especially for files created in recent CorelDRAW versions.
