What is the WS6 file format?
A file with the .WS6 extension is a file known as WordStar For Windows 6 Document. This format is associated with Michael Petrie.
The reliable way to open a .WS6 file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .WS6 files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
