What is the LHW file format?
A file with the .LHW extension is a file known as LHWarp Compressed Amiga Archive. This format is associated with Jonathan Forbes.
The reliable way to open a .LHW file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .LHW files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
