What is the HM~ file format?
A file with the .HM~ extension is a file known as Help&Manual Help Project Backup. This format is associated with EC Software GmbH.
The reliable way to open a .HM~ file is with software that recognises this exact format, rather than guessing from the file name. If you are not sure what created a file, our file identifier can read its first bytes and name the real format, even when the file has been renamed.
We are still gathering the list of programs that open .HM~ files. A fully verified, hand-written description of this format is being prepared; until then, the details on this page are drawn directly from our database.
