What is RPG Maker?
RPG Maker is a series of 2D role-playing game development tools created by Enterbrain (now part of Kadokawa) that allows users to build games using built-in editors for maps, events, characters, and databases without requiring programming knowledge. Scripting is supported via embedded Ruby or JavaScript engines depending on the version. Different versions use distinct file formats such as .rxdata for RPG Maker XP assets and .rvdata for VX Ace assets.
