What is GNU Bash?
GNU Bash (Bourne Again SHell) is a Unix shell and command language developed by the GNU Project as a free replacement for the original Bourne shell. It is the default interactive shell on most Linux distributions and was the default on macOS through Mojave. Bash supports scripting, command history, job control, and shell functions.
