What is Windows Media Player OS X?
Windows Media Player for Mac OS X was Microsoft's media playback application for Apple's operating system, enabling Mac users to play Windows Media Audio (WMA) and Windows Media Video (WMV) files. Microsoft discontinued it in 2006 and ended all support by 2011, and it was never updated beyond version 9. It was one of the few Microsoft consumer applications built specifically for Mac OS X.
