What is Stata?
Stata is a general-purpose statistical software package developed and sold by StataCorp LP. It is widely used in economics, epidemiology, sociology, and other social sciences for data management, statistical analysis, and graphics. It includes its own scripting language (.do files) and supports a broad range of regression and panel data methods.
