What is lzop?
lzop is a command-line file compression utility created by Markus F.X.J. Oberhumer that uses the LZO algorithm, optimized for very fast compression and decompression at the cost of compression ratio compared to gzip or bzip2. It is commonly used on Linux and Unix systems and produces .lzo archive files.
