Daring Fireball Markdown

Markdown is a lightweight text formatting syntax and plain-text-to-HTML converter created by John Gruber of Daring Fireball, designed so that plain text with simple punctuation conventions remains readable as-is while also converting cleanly to HTML. The original implementation is a Perl script, and .md and .markdown are the standard file extensions for Markdown-formatted text files.
