What is ccrypt?
ccrypt is a command-line file encryption and decryption utility developed by Peter Selinger that uses the Rijndael block cipher, the same algorithm standardized as AES. It is designed as a more secure replacement for the traditional Unix crypt command and encrypts files in place, appending a .cpt extension to encrypted output.
