A PES file contains machine stitch commands, not pixel data. A JPG export gives you a shareable image of the design - useful for marketplace listings, client approvals, social posts, or a visual archive. PES files embed a low-resolution thumbnail, but a viewer that renders the full stitch path produces a larger and cleaner result.

- The JPG is a one-way preview - stitch coordinates, the thread color sequence, and machine commands are absent from the image and cannot be recovered from it.
- Some tools export only the low-resolution thumbnail embedded in the PES container (often 130×180 px or smaller); a viewer that renders the full stitch path produces a larger, cleaner image.
- Thread colors in the JPG depend on how the software maps the PES color list to its thread chart and may not exactly match your physical thread.
