Why convert NEF to RAW?
NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) is Nikon's proprietary camera raw format. "RAW" is a generic category for any unprocessed sensor image file - NEF, CR2, ARW, and DNG are all raw files. There is no universal .raw specification, no standard container, and no software ecosystem built around it as a distinct file type, so there is no defined format to convert into.
