Why convert JT to PDF?
PDF is the standard format for sharing documents with people who have no 3D software installed. A .pdf from a JT is useful for review meetings, approval workflows, or attaching a visual record to a work order - situations where the recipient only needs to see the model, not interact with 3D software.
How to convert JT to PDF
JT2Go FREE
Open the .jt file in JT2Go, orient the view, and use File > Print to a PDF printer (Microsoft Print to PDF). The output is a flat 2D rendering of the current viewport.
CAD Assistant FREE
Open the .jt in CAD Assistant and export a screenshot; open that image in any PDF-capable application and print or export to PDF.
Teamcenter Visualization APP
Open the JT assembly and use File > Publish > 3D PDF to produce an interactive PDF with embedded 3D geometry that Acrobat Reader can rotate.

- Flat PDF and 3D PDF are very different outputs: a flat PDF is a frozen image, while a 3D PDF lets the reader rotate the model inside Adobe Acrobat.
- Flat PDF quality depends on render resolution and viewport orientation, not on whether the JT contains B-rep or mesh geometry.
- If the JT is mesh-only, a 3D PDF embeds triangle geometry; B-rep precision is only preserved when the source JT was authored with B-rep data.
