Why convert BIN to NRG?
NRG stored the same raw disc data as BIN but wrapped it in a Nero-specific header that was never an open standard. Nero Burning ROM has not been a mainstream tool since roughly 2010, and NRG has no audience in current software, emulators, or virtual drive tools - unlike ISO, which is supported everywhere.

- NRG was never an open standard; no specification was published, and third-party support is minimal in current software.
- If you have an existing NRG file to open, PowerISO or ISOBuster can read it and convert it to ISO.
- ISO cannot store CD-audio tracks; for mixed-mode discs keep the BIN/CUE pair and use it directly in an emulator or burner.
